Author and teacher - Italia
I am the author of a series of books that promote the development of 21st-century skills, creativity, student-led action and global awareness through the study of English literature in Italian schools.
Creating top-quality and reliable resources for schools and teachers requires a lot of time and an innumerable amount of work, study and preparation: copyright is there to guarantee that teachers and students will continue to have the opportunity to utilise resources that are always reliable, well-structured and authoritative.
Copyright is a way to formally recognise the importance of intellectual work and academic honesty; it is also a means to promote a culture in which intellectual work is rewarded, appreciated and nurtured.
Undermining the primary role played by copyright in the creation and preservation of a good book is the same as killing the very essence of it; and “he who destroys a good book, kills reason itself” (J. Milton).
